Holistic medicine is a form of healing that considers the whole person — body, mind, spirit, and emotions — in the quest for optimal health and wellness. My Journey to Holistic Medicine

It all started with my first heart attack. The surgery to put in stents cost $130,000, and the after surgery medications were over $500 per month. Apart from the costs, the effects of the drugs were detrimental to my overall well being. I knew I could not continue on medications for the rest of my life. That is when I started to look into alternative means to health. I went to a detox clinic and got really good results, but fell off the nutrition program after about 2 years of phenomenal results. Five years after the first heart attack, I had a second. This time, doctors wanted to do a bypass surgery. No way, I said. I took an AMA and left the hospital to a Natural Health Clinic, where I got a detox again and placed on a plant based diet. This has been my lifestyle since. I have explored several promising therapies with excellent results.

Low Level Laser Therapy

Laser therapy has been in use for decades with significant results, although controversial. It was first used in the healing of wounds and pain relief. However, the uses have significantly expanded to include help with various diseases and the optimal functioning of organs of the body.

How Lasers Work

Low level lasers do not produce heat while in use as other lasers do. Instead, they induce a chemical reaction in the cells, similar to what happens in Photosythesis in plants. The process is called biostimulation or photobiomodulation. This works on the idea that when light hits certain molecules, the light energy causes electrons to jump from area of low energy to areas of high energy, thus helping blood flow and transport of nutrients and oxygen. The flow of energy in our bodies affect how we feel and think and the general well being of the body. If our energy channels or meridians are blocked, they can lead to lack of nutrient and oxygen flow to areas of the body and can result in diseases. Blockages in the Pericardium Meridian relates to heart disease and heart attacks (I have had two).
